Do I get training?

Yes. full training is provided and with some service users you would be with an experienced member of staff.

What kind of activities would I be doing?

We do a wide range of activities from swimming and trampolining, to walks in the lakes, shopping, visiting different towns, supporting at social and after school clubs. We also support service users at home with personal care needs, cooking and learning skills to be more independent.

Is there any personal care or moving and handling? Would I get fully trained as I have no experience?

Yes, we provide full training before you start, some of which is online and some that is person, and then service user specific training with an experienced member of staff.

Do I have to drive and have access to a car for this job?

Yes, driving and having access to a car for this job is essential.

Would I be administering medications?

Yes, however full training is provided.

What experience do I need?

No experience is required for a carer role, for a senior carer role 12 months of care experience is essential.

Can I do any qualifications with you?

Yes, we have supported several employees to complete their NVQ level 3, we also encourage staff to do level 2’s in specific areas of interest.

I have another job and I’m a single parent, do you have hours that could fit in with this?

We have a wide range of hours to suit all availability of staff from mornings, day hours, evenings, weekends, and school holidays.

I only want to work 1 day a week would this be, okay?

Yes, that’s fine. We have service users who only want 1 day a week.
